Lincoln Building

The Lincoln building was originally the Lincoln Elementary School for Lewistown School District No. 1. The Lincoln school's history dates back to the start of the Lewistown community in the late 19th century and over time became part of a strong school system which also included Highland Park and Garfield elementary schools.  Over time each of those three schools were built and rebuilt three times before the 1960s.  Lewis and Clark Elementary school was built in the 1950s and School District No. 1 proudly had four high quality neighborhood schools.  Following the consolidation of School District No. 1 and Fergus County High School District in the 1970s, the Lincoln School became home to the newly consolidated district administrative services.

Administrative departments found in the Lincoln building today are the Superintendent's Office, Business Office, the Instructional Media Center, Food Service, Maintenance and Technology. The School Board also meets here in the Board Room.

Lewistown Public Schools partners with the Central Montana Learning Resource Center Cooperative (CMLRCC), also located in the Lincoln Building, which provides support for many of our resource and special needs students.
