As we enter this school year we are looking to move forward, getting back to our normal day to day operations. Lewistown Public School’s fall Opening Plan, as required by the Office of Public Instruction will be 100% capacity, full in-person instruction, 5 days/week. Masks will be optional for students and staff and every effort will be made to maintain 3’ feet of distancing. Social distance will still be important to limit the spread of COVID or other illnesses and limit the number of potential students and/or staff needing to quarantine if/when a positive case appears in our schools. The sanitizing protocols, including frequent hand washing, will remain in place for all of our schools.
You should be receiving information from your child’s teacher regarding our beginning of the year “meet and greet.” Teachers will be setting up times to meet with you and your child so they can get to know you and show you around the classroom before school starts. We will be holding these meetings on Wednesday, August 25th from 12pm to 6pm, Thursday, August 26th from 8am to 3:30pm, and August 27th from 8am to 3:30pm. Please bring your child and all of their school supplies to the school during that time. This will give everyone a chance to explore the school, put things away, and have a conversation with your teacher about what to expect this year. During your time at the school we can also answer questions about bus routes, our parent portal, breakfast and lunch, daily schedules, pick up and drop off procedures, and much more. KinderSteps, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students will start class on Monday, August 30th.
We look forward to seeing you throughout this school year!!!
