School District No. One

Lewistown Public Schools is housed within five school buildings, in addition to an administration building and bus barn. Serving approximately 1,200 students in our community, the schools strive to ensure students are college, career, and life ready.

Lewistown is somewhat unique in that we have grade-level elementary schools with Garfield Elementary serving our kindergarten and 1st grade students, Highland Park Elementary houses our 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students, and  Lewis & Clark Elementary is where our 5th and 6th grade students thrive. This structure allows for great grade-level collaboration and creates consistency in our instructional delivery for students. For new staff members, this also provides great mentoring as the teams work closely in planning throughout the school year.

Lewistown Junior High School and Fergus High School provide a variety of excellent educational opportunities along with extra-curricular and co-curricular activities through which students may demonstrate their talents. We provide students with dual-credit and AP coursework throughout the school year, partnering with several universities around the state.
