A wide array of adult education and college course work is available locally through a collaborative effort of Montana State University-Northern, Lewistown School District No. One, and Educational Opportunities for Central Montana (EOCM).

College course work provided by MSU-Northern allows area people to work on their post-secondary education goals right here at home.  Approximately one hundred and fifty courses are offered annually, including transferable, entry level core classes needed for any degree, courses to complete an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Business, a general education Associate of Arts degree, as well as continuing education and Masters level course work for educators.  Federal financial aid is available to students who qualify for assistance.CMEC

Through the Central Montana Education Center, the Lewistown School District offers a comprehensive program of approximately one hundred educational, social, cultural, and recreational opportunities each year for adults aged 16 and older.  Non-credit adult education courses include computer technology, arts/crafts, theatre bus trips, First Aid/CPR, dog obedience, welding, cooking, exercise classes and much more!

The Construction Academy provides training for adults and area high school students wishing to learn job-ready carpentry skills.  Students build a home each year and offer it for sale to the general public upon completion.

Driver Education sessions are offered three times each year for age eligible students.  Students must be fourteen and a half years old when a session begins.  Two sessions are scheduled to meet during the school day at Fergus High School and one session is held after school is out in the month of June.

The Adult Learning Center provides free one-to-one tutoring for those who are sixteen years of age or older who need to brush up on their academic skills to obtain their GED diploma, who would like to enter college or other post-secondary training, or who need job skills.  GED testing is also available.

The Central Montana Education Center and MSU-Northern Lewistown are located at 773 Airport Road and can be reached by calling 535-9022, weekdays.
