HEARING CONSERVATION PROGRAM

Parent Notification of Routine Hearing Screening
Hearing screening is conducted at your child’s school. Pure tone screening is mandated for students in grades K, 1 and 10. Students in other grades will also be screened if they are new to the school, on the annual hearing recheck list, or referred by the school or parent/guardian. If your child is absent, unable to complete the pure tone screening, or does not pass the pure tone screening; they will be referred for a hearing rescreen. The Hearing Conservation Program audiologist will conduct the hearing rescreen and, in addition to the pure tone screening, may also conduct one or both of the following: Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs) Screening, which is a measure of cochlear (inner ear) function that does not require the child to respond and/or Immittance Screening, which measures the movement of the eardrum by putting positive and negative pressure into the ear canal. Please contact the school if an ear-related medical issue arises and that information will be passed on to the audiologist.

2018 FHS Career Fair

Fergus High School collaborated with the Lewistown community and our business partners to provide FHS students with and important opportunities prepare them for career decisions during FHS Career Fair, which was held on April 18, 2018.

During the 2018 FHS Career Fair, students started the day with an excellent presentation by Joe Eckhardt of Edward Jones here in Lewistown.  Students then participated in four job experience explanatories during the day and had a chance to visit with many of the employers, professionals and business owners in Lewistown and around the state.  Students came to the fieldhouse for lunch, visiting with a gym full of tables providing multiple opportunities for students to learn more, and ask questions about, careers in many different career and employment areas.

Fergus High would like to take this time to thank Mr. Eckhardt and his panel, our exploratory presenters and career presenters during the lunch hour.  A photo gallery of the event is available on our school webpage at this address - http://www.lewistown.k12.mt.us/5/Gallery/36.
